He does so with two different texts in this sermon, beginning with the one from which the title is taken, written by Frances Ridley Havergal, “Like A River Glorious”. He ends with a quote of another great hymn “He Will Hold Me Fast”. But the great teaching, the real meat, as always comes from God’s word.
