A River Glorious

Listen to Pastor Sugden in this sermon from 1983 as he talks about the peace of God, from Romans 5:1-6. I love how he weaves in great hymn texts as he preaches. He does so with two different texts in this sermon, beginning with the one from which the title is taken, written by Frances Ridley Havergal, “Like A River Glorious”. He ends with a quote of another great hymn “He Will Hold Me Fast”. But the great teaching, the real meat, as always comes from God’s word.

  1. I had the honor of being baptized by Pastor Sugden in the mid 1960’s when I was about 8 years old. He was such a consistently high-quality example for us. Now that I’m age 64, I look back with deep appreciation for being provided such a firm foundation in my Christian life. Thank you for posting these sermons. The Lord bless you.
